Welcome to Greenleaf
Greenleaf School provides inspirational, inclusive and excellent learning in a vibrant, fun environment to create self-confident and respectful pupils, proud of themselves, their school and their wider community.
On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Greenleaf Primary School.
Our ethos is: Aim High, Work Hard, Be Kind
Greenleaf is a special and highly successful school for children and staff located in the heart of Walthamstow. We are proud of our ‘outstanding’ reputation and its many achievements and awards and believe that our success is down to our strong partnership with our children, families, staff and the local community.
Greenleaf is led by a highly dedicated staff team that work together to provide a curriculum that focuses on developing the whole child, whilst also ensuring children develop key skills and knowledge in Reading, Writing and Maths. We endeavour to teach all areas of the curriculum in an exciting way, meeting the needs of every child with outstanding pastoral care and high expectations. We work hard to develop lifelong learners who enjoy and strive for success.
We know that choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent.
Due to current covid guidance from the government we are currently not undertaking any tours or visits. Please explore our website as it aims to give you a really good insight to what we are about. If there are any questions you have please feel free to give our office a call on 020 8520 7963, where we will be able to provide further information. As soon as we are able to accommodate school visits again we will update this on our website.
We are a proud school with much to celebrate and share. I hope you enjoy the wonders of Greenleaf Primary School.
Our School Aims
At Greenleaf Primary School every child matters and as such we have high expectations of all members of our school community. We will provide a calm, safe, stimulating and challenging environment where children and adults develop an enjoyment of learning. We work together to:-
- Attain the highest possible level of achievement
Promote and maintain a healthy physical and emotional lifestyle
Learn to understand, respect and value our own and others' way of life
Develop the confidence, self- esteem, interest and enjoyment in learning which will enable us to think critically, creatively and independently and prepare us fully for the next stage in our education
Develop our personalised, independent learning through promoting the 5Rs – Responsibility, Reflection, Resourcefulness, Readiness and Resilience.
Ensure everyone has equal access to a broad and balanced curriculum that reflects their individual needs and equips them for the future
Develop a positive role for the school within the wider community and take an active part in our diverse world
Evaluate our progress, identifying any barriers or inequalities and their underlying causes, taking preventative and remedial action where appropriate
At the heart of these aims is a complete commitment by Greenleaf to a policy of equal opportunities for all;
regardless of class, disability, ethnic origin, sex and sexual identity, sexuality, family make-up, belief (religious or non-religious), or any other individual special need.
We value the many different cultures of our families and feel that the diverse cultural inheritance of our children is an enormous asset to the school. We treat, very seriously, any incident of a discriminatory nature and have a formal procedure for dealing with such incidents.
